On 19th June: Ms. Wani from Frankfin Academy was invited to update the students on the various career opportunities in the Aviation industry for commerce students.


On 26th June: A group discussion on the topic “Curbing the Population Explosion” was conducted for the Economics students from XII std (Commerce & Arts).


On 1st July: Education Department of Maharashtra had called a meeting of Education Officers of Z.P of Ahmednagar, Sholapur & Pune division related to Scholarships of students to benefit them. The meeting was presided over by the Deputy Director of Education, Mr. Sunil Magar. The responsibility of hosting this meeting was given to the junior college and we hosted it successfully.

On 1st July: The Interactors participated in the Tree Plantation Campaign at Azam Campus organized by the Rotary Club of Pune Central Pune.


On 2nd July: Excursions are the best means of making students feel & experience the historical moments, movements, events etc.

  1. A visit to the Shaniwarwada enabled them to know more about the Peshwas.
  2. Kelkar Museum provided an outlet to our students to see the artifacts of different centuries.
  3. Tribal communities have always kept man in awe & wonder as they have always remained mysterious. A visit to the Tribal Museum helped them to understand the life of the tribes.

The teacher incharge for the visits was Mrs. Nazema Daruwala from Arts faculty.


On 15th July: The Geography Dept. had organized a visit to Katraj Dairy which helped the students to observe closely the various aspects connected with the dairy industry i.e. its formation, functioning, pasteurization and finally the packing of the various milk products (Science & Arts students).


On 24th July: “Adopt a Tree Campaign” was held at Residential Society on N.I.B.M road under the guidance of Mr. Satish Khot, President (National Societies for Clean Cities, Pune (NSCC)). Eleven students of the college from Commerce participated in the campaign under the guidance of their E.V.S Teacher, Ms. Vaishali Bhosale.


On 24th July: A Logo Competition for Science Academy of the campus was held at Azam Campus.


On 26th July: For the study of the topic “Non Verbal Communication” a LCD presentation by the Psychology Dept was prepared by the incharge teacher Ms. Meenaz Vastani, who made an effective & lively communication with the students through it.


On 27th July: A guest lecture was organized for XII Commerce students for providing them basic guidance & information about C.A. Examination & Common Proficiency Test. Mr. Krishan Dwivedi from Edu Comp Tele Education Network for C.A gave the valuable guidance & motivated the students for the preparation of the C.A Examination.


On 8th Aug: Three students from the Interact Club attended a District conference at Khopoli with their teacher Mrs. Nazima Shaikh.


On 15th Aug: Teachers attended the Flag Hoisting Ceremony in the Campus.


On 18th Aug: Horlicks organized Wiz Kids Competition which was South Asia’s largest Competition for talented students. It paved a way for students to display their artistic bent of mind & their creativity through competitions like Story Writing, Singing, Dancing, Mehndi etc. Ms. Shama Khumani from XII Arts class brought laurels to the college by bagging first prize for Mehendi Competition, Ms. Mehwish Shaikh (Commerce) bagged the runner up prize. Ms. Tahura Hiroli was another feather in the cap, she was awarded the 1st Runner up prize in the Story Writing Competition. The venue for the event was Yeshwantrao Chavan Memorial Auditorium, Kothrud, Pune. Ms. Sana Shaikh & Ms. Asma Mujawar were the teacher incharge for the event.


On 20th Aug: A debate competition for std XII was conducted on the topic “Should there be a law to force children to look after their Aged Parents”.


On 25th Aug: To celebrate the “World Earth Over Shoot Day” in the campus numerous activities were carried out in the Green Galaxy. The students participated in large no in Essay Writing Competition, Tree Plantation Programme. It was a joint venture of the Geography & E.V.S Dept.


On 28th Aug: An Essay Competition was organized for std XII Sci students on the following topics,

  1. Effects of Chemicals in day to day life.
  2. Contribution of Dr. Abdul Kalam.
  3. Uses & Misuses of Plastic.
  4. Cloning.

On 4th Sept: Zakaat money was collected from the teachers & students from Commerce Faculty by the Interactors & it was given to 34 deserving & needy students. Rs. 330/- each to celebrate Ramadan.


On 1st Oct: The Installation Ceremony of the New Board of Directors for the Interact Club of the A.I.J.C.G was held in the Assembly Hall, Azam Campus.


On 3rd Oct: The students from Commerce & Arts were taken to the L.C.D Room for “Power Point Presentations” prepared on complex topics like “Elasticity , Forms of Market & Price, Determination, Commercial Banking, Money “ for making “Economics, O.C & Management” simpler to understand & pleasurable to learn.


On 4th Oct: “The World Animal Day” was marked by a visit to the “Rajiv Gandhi National Park” to create awareness amongst the students about the importance of protection of wild animals. The visit enabled the students to collect information about the habitat of different animals, their species. The students from all the three faculties i.e. Science, Commerce & Arts participated in the celebration. It was a joint activity of E.V.S & Geography Dept of the college.


On 5th Oct: A debate competition was held on the topic “Better Party System in India” on behalf of the Political Science Dept., Ms. Samiksha was the teacher incharge from Arts faculty.


On 6th Oct: A guest lecture by Mr. Pradhan of EDNEXA on guidance for preparation of MH-CET examination for XII Sci students was organized.


On 16th Oct: XII Arts students (Economics) had a Debate Competition on the topic “Population”.


On 21st Oct: The Interactors collected money from the staff members & the students of Commerce & Arts faculty & gave Rs 245/- each to 17 deserving & needy students in order to enable them celebrate Diwali.


On 22nd Oct: On behalf of the Economics Dept. of the Jr. College a Debate Competition was organized on the following topics.

  1. Globalization – Advantages & Disadvantages.
  2. Population Explosion.
  3. Labour Incentives & Capital Incentives.       

The judges for the competition were Ms. Farzana Khan (Supervisor, Commerce Faculty, & Ms. Mumtaz Shaikh (Lect. in S.P.)


On 23rd Oct: The prize distribution ceremony was conducted by Rotary Club of Pune Central & was attended by Mrs. Gazala Mulani. The Interact Club received 3rd prize for best record keeping & 3rd prize for fund raising.


On 26th Oct: The “Organization of Commerce” department organized a Chart Making Competition on “Trade & Commerce”.


On 27th Oct: A guest lecture on the topic “Company Secretary ship” for Secretarial Practice was held, Mr. Krishnan Dwivedi from Education, Network for CAICS was called upon as the Guest Speaker.


On 28th Oct: A Quiz Competition was held by the “Book Keeping & Accountancy” dept (Commerce Faculty) to make the learning of the subject interesting. The teachers incharge for the competition were Mrs. Farhana Taiba & Mrs. Tasneem Khan, Mrs. Laxmi Kailashan, lecturer in Choksey Jr. College judged the competition.


On 11th Nov: To mark the birthday celebration of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad a workshop was held (in our campus) Ms. Saba Sayyed, lecturer in Urdu attended it.


On 13th Nov: XII std Arts students prepared power point presentation on “Religious Social Reform Movements”


On 20th Nov: An Intercollegiate Sa – Re – Ga – Ma Singing Competition was held at Symbiosis. Ms. Neha Gaikwad from XII Sci B was selected for the Semi – Final round.


On 28th Nov: Students of Science Academy appeared for Science Olympiad Examination i.e. National Talent Search Examination in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Astronomy & General Science.


On 6th & 8th Dec: A parent teacher meeting was held for std XII Commerce students to discuss the overall progress made by the students.


On 7th Dec: A workshop on “Business Environment” was conducted for std XII students to enlighten & guide the students about the various aspects related to the topic as it forms a part of their Commerce curriculum.

On 7th & 8th Dec: Ms. Kalpana Patil attended a two days training programme for English teachers at Nowrosjee Wadia College organized by Z.P. It was in connection with the implementation of “English Literature” as an optional subject at the Jr. College level.


On 9th Dec: 120 students participated in the Physics Academy (Science Faculty) visit to “Modern Energy Park” Mulshi. A lecture to save energy and alternative methods was delivered by Mr. Chandrakant Pathak, B.E. (Mechanical).


On 11th Dec: The Interactors held a Canteen of mouth watering recipes to collect funds for the club.


On 15th Dec: The Arts Faculty had organized an exhibition on “Health & Society” which included serious issues like Junk Food, Epidemics etc. The Chief Guest for the event was Mrs. Abeda Inamdar Chairperson M.C.E Society; Mrs. Nazema Daruwala took the initiative to make the activity a grand success.


On 15th Dec: Problem solving session by Maths department (Science) was conducted by splitting students into small groups; each group had a student leader who helped her group in achieving results.


On 16th Dec: A visit to IUCCA was organized for the students of XI & XII Science where they were provided information on material to experiment with various scientific principles.


On 19th & 20th Dec: A “Multi Faculty Development Programme” initiated by the Metropolitan Group of Institute & Metro College of Arts , Commerce & Science organized a workshop which was attended by Ms. Mahek Bhatia & Ms. Afreen.


On 22nd Dec: Maths Quiz Competition was organized in the LCD Room for students of std XII Sci.


On 23rd Dec: “Future of Children in India” was the topic for Essay Writing Competition organized for XII std students.


On 25th Dec: An exhibition was organized by the Zilla Parishad at Navin Hind High School, on the topic, “Model of Disney Land”. Student of std XI Sci. participated in the same.


On 28th & 29th Dec: An “Environmental Exhibition” for the study of Environmental Science was held in the college where in the students got an opportunity to exhibit their charts & models. They were based on “Ozone Layer & its Depletion”, “Pollution”. The judges were Ms. Priya Jadhav (HOD, Environment Dept.) & her assistant Ms. Shabnam.

On 28th & 29th Dec: On the occasion of birthday of Mr. P.A.Inamdar, President M.C.E Society, a science exhibition was held in the school building, inaugurated by Mr. Zubair Shaikh.

On 4th Jan: A meeting for the teachers of the Interact Club was held at Peer Mohammed High School regarding Interact District Conference.


On 8th Jan: A power point presentation by the student of XI Sci. was prepared on the topics selected from Biology.


On 9th Jan: The Interact Club of A.I.J.C.G hosted the “Inter State Quiz Competition” under the guidance of Mrs. Nazema Shaikh, the teacher incharge for the Interact Club. It was held at Maulana Adbul Kalam Azad Hall, Koregaon Park.


On 11th Jan: A Mehendi Stall for Meena Bazar, organized by Bazme Khawateen was arranged by the Interact Club which incurred them a profit of Rs. 310/- to be utilized by the club.


On 15th Jan: An educational trip for students of std XI & XII Sci. to Tikuji Ni Wadi at Thane was organized.


On 17th Jan: A visit to Tilak Wada enabled the History students from Arts faculty to see & study the remains of B.G.Tilak. A visit to Mahatma Phule Museum was indeed valuable as they could get an insight into Phule’s life. The students also visited Aga Khan Palace to see the personal belongings of Mahatma Gandhi – “Father of Nation”. Mrs. Nazema Daruwala accompanied the students for all these visits.


On 22nd Jan: Maths exhibition was held at the Senior College Library for class XI Science students on the topics,

  1. Symmetry.
  2. Picks Theorem.

On 24th Jan: A farewell function was organized for XII Commerce & Arts students. Mrs. Abeda Inamdar, Chairperson M.C.E Society was the chief guest for the function.

On 24th Jan: A visit to Sugar factory, Theur was organized for std XI Sci. students.

On 25th Jan: A farewell function of std XII Science was held in the Assembly Hall. Mrs. Sushma Chavhan, Senior Inspector, Cantonment was invited as a Chief Guest for the function.


On 4th Feb: A LCD Presentation Competition was organized by the Commerce Faculty for O.C, Economics & Accounts. The best presentation was awarded a prize & the participants were awarded a prize & were given certificates. The judges were Mrs. Laxmi Anand Kailasan, from S.M.Choksey Jr. College & Mr. Joseph Panikar from St. Vincent’s Jr. College, Pune.


On 12th Feb: 10 students of the Interact Club participated in a Drawing Competition organized by the Rotary Club at Jogging Park, Bund Garden. Ms. Francis Snegha Anthony (XI Commerce E) was the proud winner as she bagged the first prize in the competition. She was awarded a trophy & a certificate of merit. The second prize was bagged by Ingle Antara Mashukar from (XI Commerce B)


On 14th Feb: IBM Pune organized one day workshop for students of science on “Global Marathon 2011”, to motivate girls students for engineering. The students prepared models of Telescope; Balloon Rockets etc the students were awarded certificates.


On 15th Feb: XI std students visited “Lijjat Papad” a small scale industry to understand the concept of Industrial set up which forms an integral part of the syllabus for S.P.


On 19th Feb: A Group Discussion on “Is SMS Running English Language” was conducted for the XI Std students by the Department of English.


On 28th Feb: A visit was organized to IISER (Pashan) on account of Science Day for all Science students.


On 1st March: The Accounts dept. organized a project on Preparation of Petty Cash Book for std XI students.


On 16th, 17th & 18th March: As a part of community service the interactors visited the Deccan Muslim Library to help the librarian in arranging the books. They also visited the Tayabia Orphanage to interact with the students to help them in their studies.
